Problems with loading AU components

Hello,
For about 6 hours now, something weird is happening...all the audio
units in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ refuse to load (including
the one i'm working on). They simply aren't listed anymore in any
host...it still works in my user directory so it's not my code. I
repaired permissions, rebooted etc...nothing seems to work. Any
suggestions?
