Franck & Co.
I played with your AU plug-in for a good part of the weekend in conjunction
with Garage Band which came Friday. I did not encounter any problems with
your plug-in. I also used it within Logic and had a lots of fun with it.
I didn't do any qualitative rigorous testing, I just played with it. My
brother and I got to jamming this weekend and I was showing him how easy
"Garage Band" was to use. Last time we jammed, I demo'd Cubase, Logic, and
Digital Performer for him. He said they were all too complicated for him,
but GB looked like it was just his speed. (He's a guitar player, not an
engineer!).
In any case, the important thing is your KingDubby plug-in did not cause any
crashes or malfunction in any way that I could see.
GB, on the other hand, as nice as it is, and I hope this doesn't get me into
trouble ;-) seems like it could have used another month in QA.
Still, Garage Band might just be reason enough for someone like my brother
to spring for a Mac. (I covered up the continuous crashing as best I could
and reassured him that Apple would fix the stability problems.
(In my case, when using GB, I kept trying to drag a loop onto the tracks
window and, unless there's already a track there, and the right kind of
track (a basic track) GB dies in a rather ugly way. I reported the bug to
Apple. I am definitely not trying to say bad things about GB, quite on the
contrary, this program has a LOT of potential! I'm just looking forward to
version 1.1).
Good luck with King Dubby! (Where the heck does that name come from?)

Rick Breen

P.S.
I have no connection with the people who make any of the software mentioned
above. I'm just another member of the ADC, the CoreAudio API list, and a
self-confessed MacHead who would have given up on Apple if they had not gone
to OS X ;-)
