Also to keep in mind that leaving the message subject as "coreaudio-api
digest" is a deterrent to effective functioning of the list, although I
don't know when in this sequence the digest subject started appearing. Many
people, due to lack of time, don't look at messages that don't have subjects
that look relevant to them.
I take the position that anyone subscribing in digest mode is responsible
for creating/retaining the appropriate message subject by hand. I realize
this is also difficult to remember, but if so then that is a reason to
perhaps find a way to make it practical to switch out of digest mode, such
as setting up email rules or whatever to put list messages in a special
folder. The use of digest mode can really cripple a list, and it is
fortunate that is not happening much on the CoreAudio list. And it *is*
fantastic how much quicker it can be to discard large numbers of messages
instantly (based on message subject) making digest mode less time-effective
even for subscribers that mostly read and rarely post, as long as you can
set up a folder for the incoming messages.
