Yes, that's correct - you can get the instrument number that tells you its midi bank/patch location. The instrument's location is encoded as follows:
0xMMLLPP

where MM is the MSB bank number
LL is the LSB bank
PP is the patch number

Does this mean that the set of Instruments returned is the entire set of instruments in the SoundFont and not just those in the first bank? I think this is the case but I'm just checking...
