channel config?

  • Subject: channel config?

My MusicDevice is a sampler. It spews out sound into
13 channels, 9 mono and 2 stereo. This represents
the 11 mics that were used to record the samples.

I thought that a mono-channel would be declared by
making a bus containing a single channel and that by
making a bus containing two channels that channel would be
treated as a stereo-'channel'. But when I start up
the plugin in Logic 6.4.1 I find that my first
two mono-channels have been joind together as a
'main output'-stereo-channel and the other channels
appear only as mono-channels.
They are also just 'named' with numbers, totally
ignoring the setName() I have done for the busses/elements.
And - they are 16, not 14, as I expected.

Are these real problems with AUs or Logic or am I
just doing things the wrong way?

/Olof W
