No, don't use the 10.2.8 SDK. You are correct that QT installs the frameworks into /System, and that's exactly why you do not want to use /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.2.8

Hi Olof - My question exactly - I wrote Bill Stewart today after
he was kind enough to reply to me with additional feedback on
the situation - but, frankly, there seems to be a disconnect
between these questions and the answers. At some point, the
light-bulb should appear over all out heads and maybe then,
we'll 'get it'. My thought, though, is that the ultimate
answer will turn out to be, "You can't do that."
