Hi Bill,
Although I see how it came across that way, I really wasn't referring
to C++ as a reason to not use it - I pointed it out just in reference
to Cocoa. In addition, it's worth saying that I don't doubt for a
second the functionality provided by the framework is excellent.
What I was referring to was the "style" of the framework. I don't think
it is an opinion to say that the framework doesn't have the intuitive
and easy nature of the Cocoa frameworks. The sources seem to me to be
more "techie" style. I personally think it'd take more time to learn
that framework than the underlying APIs.
I may be missing something, but I'd sure love it if I could use
CoreAudio with a Cocoa-style framework, regardless of language (ObjC
preferred of course) without having to write my own :)

Religious views should be kept out of discussions. :-)
The Public Utility sources in the SDK are I believe of an inestimable
value - to cite one example, the CAStreamBasicDescription
I cannot tell you how many emails would have been saved, or hours of
programming time for that matter, if even just this class were being
used instead of ignored due to the attitude you express above.
End of discussion too - I don't want to see a slew of emails debating
the merits of computer languages on this list.
Bill
