AUVarispeed

I know this AU exists, I can see it in the headers, but how does it work?

My internal AU chain goes like this: render -> AUFormatter -> user-selected AU -> AUOutputDevice

I apparently have to put the AUFormatter in there to get the input to the user-selected AU to be the same as the output device - my inputs are from a whole range of sample depths and formats.

In this layout, where would the AUVarispeed go? I can tell it's got a rate control (based on 1.0, i assume??) and a cents control (got that one), but it barfs the chain when it's in front of the AUFormatter and right after it too, but I can't tell if I'm using it correctly or not in this chain. Should it go just before the output device? After it?

Anyone have any hints? Docs?
