Two ways come to mind:
1) insert a Matrix Mixer into your graph before the output unit as it
supports metering. Pro: metering done for you. Con: you need QT 6.4.
2) add a pass through AU (an AU in bypass mode) and add a post render
notification callback so you can look through the buffers and determine
the levels yourself. Pro: compatible back to 10.2. Con: you've got to
do it yourself.
