Asynchronous Audio Again

Playing audio seems so much more complicated than it used to be. I was hoping that there would be a simple function similar to the old SndPlay function in MacOS 9.x with a flag to turn on asynchronous sound. No such luck. Cocoa does not even have anything similar.

I finally ended up purchasing some source code from Dan Lab Games (http://www.danlabgames.com). They have an elegant little set of functions that let you load sounds, play them, turn on and off channels, change volume, and pan. It is 45 USD, but it was worth it to me.
