I've only tried multi-out effect (not musicdevice) with Logic 7.
Mine has one stereo input bus and four stereo output busses.
It is a known issue that Logic 7 does not recognise this valid
configuration as a multi-out one.
I suppose this will
Emagic has some developer document on how Logic 6 and Logic 7 are
handling Multi-busses AU.

Hi list,
I would like to create an AU which has four buses with two channels
each (four stereo-outs). When I do this, the validation tool correctly
lists four buses with two channels each, but the render call is only
made for the first bus. Is this correct behaviour? How can I detect
(from within the Render call) which bus is currently rendered?
In Logic 6 and 7 my AU only shows up as "Stereo". What
methods/properties do I need to implement to also make it available in
the "Multi" menu as well?
I also tried to create it (as a workaround to my current problems) as
a one bus with eight channels, but then the validation tools complains
about the default number of channels not being compatible with the
reported ones. Which methods/properties do I need to implement to make
this work?
Can anyone point me to a multi-bus (or equivalent) example code (or
better: post some)?
Cheers,
Mike
