Hi everyone,

On the topic of programmatic audio bus connectivity,
it's often good to see how related domains
have solved a problem -- to see pitfalls as well
as good points. In that light, this link:

http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~lazzaro/sa/book/saol/bus/index.html

may be worth reading -- it's the chapter in
the online book we wrote about SAOL (an audio
signal processing language, part of MPEG 4) that
concerns how a SAOL program determines the
width and connectivity of its buses, and the
execution order of its instruments. It may be
helpful to read the language tutorial first:

http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~lazzaro/sa/book/tut/index.html

I hasten to add that I wasn't on the MPEG committee that
defined SAOL -- I did help behind the scenes doing an
early implementation, as well as helping later on with the
Corrigenda process. I leave it to others to decide
which aspects of SAOL buses are pitfalls and
which are good points :-). But, I think its worth
taking a look at ...
