interleaved=stereo=multiplexed?

  • Subject: interleaved=stereo=multiplexed?

Dear All,

At this page

http://developer.apple.com/documentation/MusicAudio/Reference/ CoreAudio/core_audio_types/chapter_6_section_3.html

It mentions "when audio data is interleaved, only one buffer is needed in the AudioBufferList".

What is meant by interleaved? Does this mean stereo? How does this relate to multiplexed data?

Thank you for any clarification.

Alexander
