For what it's worth my work around for this "feature" was to
temporarily wire that mixer bus to a silent render callback - this same
callback can be used for any unused MatrixMixer busses.
Then when I'm ready to use a MatrixMixer buss I just swap out the
silent render callback and plug in the noisy one.
There haven't been any complaints about the clicks.
Not trying to be snotty - but I ran into the same issue and this is how
I dealt with it.
Best,
Robert.

What sort of time is "a while"... miliseconds, seconds?

When a matrix mixer input bus is disabled, does it stop pulling from

Thanx,

It does stop pulling after it a while. In order to prevent a click,
it decays the amplitude to zero. It takes some time for this to
finish. The only way to tell that this has completed is to notice
that you have not been pulled for a cycle.
