drivers: changing sample rate of an AudioDevice

  • Subject: drivers: changing sample rate of an AudioDevice

Hi, I'm writing an IOAudioFamily - based CoreAudio driver.

When changing the sample rate, will IOAudioEngine::performAudioEngineStop() be called (if the engine is running of course) before IOAudioEngine:: performFormatChange() ?

i.e. Should a driver be able to have its sample rate or format changed *without* stopping the engine first?

Thanks,
Nick
