Stefan, I note that Logic 7 contains distributed audio processing:

Can you give any further details about the technical details behind this?
As I've just written in my reply to Robert in the this-pointer
thread, the distributed audio
processing is currently alas only working for the Logic built-in plug-ins.
We are doing some evaluation for AUs too, but there's several issues
that prevented
us from supporting this for AUs in the initial release, like for
example the this-pointer
based communication in many AUs, copy protection issues and the lack of a mean
to predict the CPU load of plug-ins to balance the load properly
between the master
and the slave(s).
Best,
Stefan
Very interesting, thanks Stefan, and kudos to the team for this feature!
One more question - from the docs on the Apple site it seams as
though you use TCP to communicate; why not UDP, with its lower
overhead for network transmission?
Disclaimer: we are just a few days away from releasing the next
version of Jack OS X, which includes UDP-based network transmission...
Thanks,
Dan
