Minimal would be QT 6.4 (better is 6.5.1) for Jaguar.. and yes, I
think it is required that you are on 10.2.8
But, with the PlayAudio file code, I don't think it has dependencies
even on that - so you could try this yourself with an older 10.2.x
system with no QT updates...
As for incompatibilities, generally in the SDK these are build
dependencies, but not run time dependencies. With Tiger we are about
to break that, but we will be explicit about that. Now, I can't say
that we've tested everything in the SDK on a 10.2.x system, but most
of the things should work fine - but if you don't test it, and it
doesn't work, then don't blame me :-)!!!

so far as i know, no. the required version of quicktime is not
available on systems less than 10.2.8 and any machines that wanted
to run the result would need the appropriate version of quicktime.
