the new 64bi t"CAF" soundfile format

Is any information available on this yet? header structure, etc? It is derived from AIFF at all (i.e. based on chunks, etc)? Specifically, I want to know if it is designed to be an "open" format amenable to support on other platforms (incl 32bit); or is it proprietary and confined to Tiger?

In this context, it may interest folk to kow that there is a proposal (originating from the EBU) currently submitted to the AES for a "RIFF64" file format modelled on the current RIFF WAVE format. the document is available to anyone who joins the AES group SC-02-08.
