The driver publishes a format of 'cac3' to tell CoreAudio that it can do
AC-3.  This is usually a non-mixable format that is 16-bit stereo as well.

There isn't any specific support for DTS, that comes along for free with the
AC-3 support.

The application is going to give the raw AC-3 data, not floats, and the
driver is going to take that buffer and send it to the hardware untouched.
