You should have gotten updated CoreAudio headers with the QuickTime 7 installation. Did the install succeed? In any case, you should be able to use the QuickTime 6.5.2 reinstaller to go back to the previous version of QT, then try the QuickTime 7 install again.

It does require 10.3.9.
