Title: MIDI class compliance: Panther vs. Tiger
Folks in another part of the company are building a device with MIDI capability. The device is expected to be class compliant, meaning it’s expected to work with Apple’s driver. Under Panther, the device appears as a 1x1, but under Tiger, the device appears as a 2x2. There is a report that the Panther behavior is due to “some sort of funneling that AMS is doing.” I have not laid my hands on an instance of this device, but I have requested that the relevant folks send me the output of USB Prober so I can ask better questions. In the meantime, can anyone think of anything the device firmware might be doing wrong?

P.S. My apologies if anyone was trying to get my attention on this list; our email infrastructure changed and list messages were not getting through to me for a while.
