Hi List,
I am writing my degree dissertation (diploma.) and for this I code a
AudioUnit Synthesizer with SideChain Input.
My unit processes N to N channels, and there are no interactions
between channels, so I override NewKernel to create a mono processing
object per channel. But after adding an envelope to my unit some
strange errors appear. I designed a linear envelope in matlab and it
works well there. My Professor looked over it and told me that it
should work. But no luck.
When testing the unit in LogicPro 6.4.1 with longer Attack/Release
Times (1-10 seconds) I can hear that the left channel is written before
the right channel for the attack and the left channel stops writing
before the right channel for the release. This seems logical, because
the left channel is buffer[0] and right is buffer[1]. It gives me a
quite nice pingpong sound, which might be useful for some sounds, but I
also would love to have a nice clean envelope, and that*s why I am
hoping that there is someone out there who could help me to avoid this
problem.
For a better understanding of my (me self most) confusing problem, I
attached the link to my unit below. It is still not finished,
Glide,Pulsewidth,LFOs are not working, but the main parts are running.
There are also sometimes glitches or how i would say knacker, which I
do not know where they are from. I really hope that those of you more
experienced ears will have some time to play around with it and give me
some feedback. (I am in my last month of studying/writing and when I
have the chance to do better I will, so please give me some advice, or
in german: wär nett' wenn Ihr ein bisschen aus dem Nähkästchen plaudern
würdet).
