Error when opening empty audio files with Quicktime

  • Subject: Error when opening empty audio files with Quicktime

Using the libsndfile library (http://www.mega-nerd.com/libsndfile/) I am (in some corner cases...) writing files (AIFF or WAV) that do not contains any audio data. Those files cannot be opened by the Quicktime Player that returns an "incorrect duration" kind of error.

Libsndfile developer Erik de Castro Lopo says that the problem is a Quicktime one not a libsndfile one.

Comments?

Thanks

Stephane Letz
