1: Does AUHAL support cac3 digital streams ?
No - you'd want to have a direct code path to the HAL...
Damn, so i have to implement two methods of communicating with
CoreAudio?
Or i have to do all the AUHAL conversion stuff myself in direct
CoreAudio methods?
2: If it does. does AUHAL take hoge and non mixing mode
automatically in this case.
This leaves me thinking btw. Since I do not have a G5 I cannot test
this. What am I gonna see on the G5? I heard these devices are usually
in Digital Out mode.
As I setup something similar to like the tn2091, how do I know which
output of the device I'm using? Will AUHAL automatically select the
correct one for me if I output lpcm?
If it does not, this would mean that on the G5 if I select the default
device, by default I can only output in cac3? And a standard AUHAL
setup might not process lpcm at all on the G5?
Or does the outputsource define more of a "preferred" stream for the
device for instance and are all streams available regardless?
