Oops, I didn't read your question carefully enough.  Looks like you want a
momentary button style, not a toggle.  ... and Chris is right, just ignore the
button state if all you want to do is clear a buffer in response to a click.
No need to worry about keeping the UI in sync with a write-only parameter.
