In the CoreAudio SDK (/Developer/Examples/CoreAudio), there's a
simple enough example of how to use the default output unit:
(Services/DefaultOutput) = should do what you want I think

Hello,
I am very new to programming in Core Audio and I am just lost. I
am trying to write a simple program to output a data array (double)
to the audio device output. I found an example on the Apple
website on how to setup an Audio Unit for input from a HAL hardware
input device. Using that, I tried to reverse the process to send
something to the HAL hardware output, but I just can not get it to
do anything. It compiles and runs, but never seems to call the
Proc function I setup. Does anyone have a simple example on how to
send data to the output device?
