The behaviour of the property kAudioDevicePropertyDeviceIsRunning has
been changed between 10.3.x and 10.4. Due to this Spark runs in an
inifinite loop, when the application quits or you switch to another I/O
device.
We have fixed this and will provide a solution for our customers soon.
Please check http://www.tcelectronic.com/Default.asp?Id=587.
Enjoy,
Sven

There is no way that an application should be able to do this and thus
necessitate the user to restart the machine to recover.
I would really like to know more details about this, how to reproduce
this problem and ideally a bug report
Thanks
