Apple Lossless QuickTime Crash

  • Subject: Apple Lossless QuickTime Crash

Hello.

I'm creating some m4a files that contain an Apple Lossless track with Core Audio. I'm using the low-level AudioConverter and AudioFile APIs to accomplish this. Everything seems to work fine, except that QuickTime Player either crashes when playing the files or plays back garbage (with a faint hint of the actual encoded audio). The kicker is that iTunes plays these files just fine. Anybody else run into this at all? I'm hoping that I just forgot to do something small.

One other thing to note is that QuickTime has no problem when I create a file that has an AAC track in it.
