Jeff,
Thank you for the quick response!
I think that makes things easier on our side.
One more question: Do we have to take care of sending sampling rate
change notifications or is that done by the IOAudioFamily code? The
sample driver code does not seem to send any notifications when handling
the performFormatChange call.
Thanks.
Devendra.

It might be possible for the
driver to know who set the sample rate,
but I can't imagine a situation where it would be important. All
requests to change the sample rate are equal. Drivers should just
process the requests to change sample rate in the order in which
they
come in and send the proper set of notifications in response.

Hi,
[This is a question from the driver side of things!]
If there are more than one CoreAudio applications trying to change
the sampling rate of a device (CoreAudio Engine), then is there a
way to detect which application has made the request?
How should the driver decide, or should the driver play no role?
Thanks.
Devendra.
