Core Audio + LAME

  • Subject: Core Audio + LAME

I am using LAME to encode some mp3s and I just tried to open one of those files with the afplay example and it returns 'dta?'. Which is kAudioFileInvalidFileError, data could not be parsed.

Perhaps I am missing something. Any suggestions?

Is there a reason for this? LAME is practically the definition of an mp3 file since so many programs use it for encoding.
