Thanks for sharing this, Bill. As it happens, I did already update to the latest QuickTime SDK. As I was doing it, I thought to myself: "Shouldn't I be more cautious? Wasn't there a big deal with a recent QuickTime update that obliterated some developer headers?" I updated anyway, thinking the lesson must have been learned by now :)

I guess it's just a good thing that none of my CoreAudio projects are "hot on the burner" right now.

Thanks again for the heads up and helpful pointer to how to remedy the problem.

If you run Tiger Software Update, you may see an update for the QuickTime SDK 7.0.2. If you are on Tiger, do NOT install this update, as it will install the wrong set of CoreAudio headers - it installs Panther based CoreAudio headers and this will cause build problems, etc. The QuickTime 7.0.2 update is fine; it is the updated QT binaries and contains no headers.

If you have already installed this SDK SU, then you can get back your correct Tiger CoreAudio headers by running the latest Developer DVD - there is an option there for CoreAudio SDK - which are the correct headers.

We are in the process of turning off this SU while we fix this, so bare with this.

Thanks, and apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Bill
