Looks good. The Audio Unit guide is a big help as I'm trying to write a host right now.

Great. Looking forward to your feedback.

What is the difference between the CoreAudio Overview and the older CoreAudio document? Is the Overview a revision that obsoletes the older one?

Good question. The new Core Audio Overview is a completely new document, written this year as a survey of Core Audio as it exists in Tiger.

The older document goes into depth on some topics, while the current version intentionally does not. And, of course, the older document is long since out of date. We're working now on fleshing out our Core Audio documentation suite, and would love to hear from you and others on this list regarding what you need most.

Best regards,

Subject: Announcing the Audio Unit Programming Guide

Apple Tech Pubs today published the first (and preliminary) version
of Audio Unit Programming Guide. You can view it or download it here:

AudioUnitProgrammingGuide/>

We'd love to hear your feedback on the current version of Audio Unit
Programming Guide, including your thoughts on what should be in
subsequent versions.

If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions that are specific
to the document, please use the "Did this document help you?" link
that you see at the bottom of each document HTML page.

Using our HTML feedback link:

* Is easier to use than the Radar bug tracking system

* Lets us use our doc feedback tracking infrastructure, which helps
us improve the document more efficiently

If reading the document prompts development questions, as usual use
the coreaudio-api list.

Looking forward to your feedback on Audio Unit Programming Guide!

-murray

PS Today we also published the first version of Core Audio Overview!
