Bjorn,
I agree in principle, but I don't like the final comment. In general,
AudioUnit developers seem eager to give up on Apple's parameter scheme and just
hide everything. This is bad for business. I don't think anybody should hide
all their parameters, there has to always be something that could be shown,
even if it is a simple master volume. It's better to be able to control *some*
parameters, even if they aren't the powerful ones. Any time the user can
control a parameter without calling up the UI, that's a good thing. Plus, I
don't believe you can automate parameters unless they are published. Perhaps a
good rule would be that AU developers publish at least all of the automatable
parameters.

Begin forwarded message:
1. Audio Unit publishers: please check your generic interfaces and make
them as useful as possible. This will make your AU more compatible, which
is good for you and good for us.
2. Apple: please consider not allowing people to use the audio unit logo
unless their generic interface is as functional and complete (with
extraneous parameters) as possible. IMHO, if they can't turn their
interface into a few names sliders, then they should hide all their
parameters.
