Yes, lots of people. Google on "audio + wavelet" (and perhps also "dafx" similarly - many papers presented at various dafx conferences, all available online) and you will find lots of references.

Also look for the books "Representations of Musical Signals" (MIT Press)

and "Musical Signal Processing" (Swets)
