Hi all,
almost every other week I get some requests about CAUGui. CAUGui is a
small user interface framework for Audio Units that I developed back in
the days... uhm... years ago. I think it's got some good concepts
(separation of control behaviour and visual feedback etc.) and it's
worth looking at.
Quite a lot of you have deployed this stuff, and many have taken it
further, modifying it for their own needs, or to keep up with other
developments.
Unfortunately, I'm drowning in work and I can't do the additions
necessary to make the Intel move, nor to open it up to other plugin
APIs.
Thus, if anyone is willing to take over responsibility, i.e. put it up
on source forge, put it under a liberal license (BSD?), add a little
mailing list, whatever, I think there's a good chance that it can
survive. I think, because there are at least 10 developers who have
already extended its functionality big time, everybody will benefit
from contributing stuff, i.e. safety for Compositing Windows etc., or
abstraction of plugin API, abstraction of drawing context, overlapping
controls, patch cord controls, drag'n'drop, file management, to name
just a few things.
I'd gladly share my knowledge in future, I just can't maintain the
project anymore.
Any volunteers?
8-)
Cheers,
;) Urs
