hi-
<OT>
I know this is off topic, but anyways ... (couldn't find the right
list, etc)...
I bought a nice audio-technica studio microphone and plugged it into
the linein jack of the mac and it did not produce a sound.
After some experimentation and googling I found out that it really
needs a pre-amp. I figure it needs anywhere from 20-100
amplification. It also looked like the impedance could be an issue
(mismatch) but I guess the preamp would take care of that.
Am I on the right track for a reasonable quality input for voice,
better than the buildin mic? I would like it to work on old macs
(analog), and new macs (analog/digital? input) but would settle for
just the new macs. Or should I just get a USB mic?
</OT>
thanks!-
