Hi all,
Am working on a command line app which needs to access AUs, however, I'm
running in to the following problem described by Bill Stewart a year or
so ago:-
>>>
One of the problems that was encountered by the Logic team as they
integrated auval within their application was the fact that some AU's
will directly invoke UI code when they are either opened or initialized.
In some cases this is ok, but in other cases where the UI is a modal
dialog (a standard alert for instance), it can be deadly as the auval
process will just stall, and because auval is a command line utility,
not a UI app, there is no way for a user to click through a dismiss the
dialog.
<<<
Thing is, I've done things a bit differently to AUVal -- although my app
is command line based, it does have a message loop, and it calls
AEInteractWithUser which /should/ bring it in to the foreground and
allow the user to click through any authorization dialogs the plug-ins
might pop up.
However, even having done that, the authorization dialogs seem to be
frozen and can't get focus (don't respond to mouse clicks). I can't
understand why this is, as my app has a run loop, and I've set it to be
the foreground process.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Angus.
