Hi Dave,

Hi folks, I need to test my AU's 5.1 abilities, so I'm looking for an audio interface for my Mac Mini. Just spotted the Griffin FireWave and it looks perfect and incredibly cheap ($60 - Amazon) compared to some of the M-Audio stuff etc.
Does this card work with current multi-out software, like Live, Logic, DP, etc? I don't care for quality on this device, just functionality.
Yes, the Firewave works as a general 6 channel output-only device, and will work with Live, Logic, etc. It supports both 6 channel linear stream content, or digital encoded (i.e. AC-3) content. There's a built-in LFE sub mix on one of the channels, but this can be disabled using a control application that ships with the unit.

Thanks for the interest, please spread the word !

Kind regards,
Andy
