thanks! That helps a lot.
One more question if you don't mind: how do I get the example to
record in WAV file format? If I change line 139 in
DCAudioFileRecorder.cpp from kAudioFileM4AType to kAudioFileWAVEType
(or any other format) I get the error
[Session started at 2006-07-21 07:28:53 +0200.]
ExtAudioFileCreateNew FAILED! 1718449215 'fmt?'
Recording stoped.
I'm certain that I am missing something related to the corresponding
AudioStreamBasicDescription but I don't know where to look, can you
help?
Also, when stopping recording I get the "Recording stoped." [sic!]
message twice, I'm not sure that this means something. Note also that
the example doesn't overwrite an existing audio file, so you can
record only once for each file that you select.

With all the recent posts inquiring about the ExtAudioFile API and/or
recording audio I've written a simple example that demonstrates both.
