Clocks and MusicPlayers

I have just returned to x-coding after a year away, and see there are now various CAClock functions, some of which I have sorely missed since the demise of OMS. Are these automatically applied to any MusicPlayers, or do I need to write my own play routines based on CAClockListeners?
