Peter,
It sounds to me like you are having an issue with your (carbon-based)
gui not supporting compositing in the host window (most hosts provide
non-composited windows at the present time).
If you go to the preferences in AULab, you can turn off composited
carbon windows by clicking on the Expert Settings disclosure triangle
and unchecking "Use composited Carbon windows for Carbon AU views).
If this is not the problem, please send me your audio unit so that I
can run it and take a look to see what is going on.
Thanks,
Michael

My AU effect has a GUI of size 170 (width) x 230 (height) pixels.
In AULab (version 1.0.3 on ppc) the bottom (height of about 10
pixels) of the GUI is not shown - it is left blank, but the plugin
window of AULab seems to have the right height.
Clicking on the buttons that are in the part of the GUI that is not
shown has no effect. Every other host I tried displayed the GUI
correctly.
Is there a problem/fix/workaround for GUIs smaller than the width
of AULab's AU plugin menu pane?
Thanks,
Peter
