Audio Units: channel handling questions

Hello all!

I have a couple questions on channels in Audio Units.

I created an effect plugin which doesn't know about the number of channels it's processing. It has an LFO generator whose phase is retained in a state variable. I've done everything properly, the state variables are reset in Reset() and the plugin passes all tests of the auval tool.

Now I have two issues:

1. When the plugin is processing stereo audio, and I tweak the LFO rate slider in realtime, quite often LFOs may get out of phase, but then get back to a synched state after more tweaking.

2. When a host loads my plugin (I am using Wave Editor from Audiofile), when the audio file is mono, it still seems to make it work in stereo, but the problem is that one of the channels becomes a DC wave (e.g. like float +1.0). I also get this issue in Garage Band but a little more rarely.

Does anyone know how can I track these issues down? Thanks a lot for any tips.

With very best wishes,

Artemiy Pavlov
