Thanks again, my only other options were Microsoft DirectShow (NO) and
Xaudio which carries a heavy license fee and doesn't include support or
anything other than the SDK.
Hello Quicktime!

I am more interested in finding an API or framework for taking
multiple sound files whether they are wav or even quicktime and
merging them into a single one for output. I think at this time this
is the most difficult or questionable part. Are you familiar with
what is provided within Mac OSX? Is what I described feasible and is
functionality provided through Mac coreaudio-api?
Quicktime provides a rich library for merging media of lots of types
together - however I'm not entirely familiar with the details of this.
The list you are looking for for that is quicktime-api. Core Audio can
do this as well, and may even provide you a level of control that will
make your head explode, but it is lower level than Quicktime and also
doesn't handle as many formats (like swf). That said, you may still
want or need to use Core Audio at some level (for example to implement
some effects) but the great thing is that CoreAudio & Quicktime work
together much better today than they have in the past.
