given up on CoreAudio for this task, and switched to QuickTime. Let
me tell you why:
1) There is a bad bug in the Audio File API causing bad hangs with
some malformed MP3 files
I beleive i've hit this on recording with CoreAudio, using code
borrowed from the afrecord sample. For some awkward reason the
recording works perfectly fine for me (MPEG-4, or WAVE) on my intel
Mac, but many other people's machines including my own powerbook
malform the MPEG-4 headers something nasty and result in big
corrupted media files.
Any status on this bug, or work arounds? Or am I going to have to
follow suit and go with Quicktime for recording?
