  • Thread-topic: AMS is 'stuck' around device connect/disconnect

Hi folks,

I have an iMac running 10.4.6 to which, unfortunately, I connected a faulty
audio device. Ever since, this machine has developed some persistent
weirdness in Audio MIDI Setup.

Now, whenever I connect any external USB or Firewire Audio device, the Audio
panel doesn't recognise the new device unless I quit and relaunch AMS.
Furthermore, if I then disconnect the device, the device remains in the
Audio panel.

As far as I can tell, the MIDI panel view is correct, and any device that I
connect works OK with both audio and MIDI, and correctly appears in the
Sound panel of System Preferences.

Is there a plist file that needs clearing or some other cache somewhere ?

Kind regards,
Andy Parker
