Hi Kevin,
We have a working app for the pc, in beta, that supports the apple
bonjour midi over ethernet spec. We are looking at licensing or
bundling it with third party vendors. if you are interested, let me
know.

whatif we used the same protocol for our talback/listenback
Not saying supporting an insane number of channels at negative
latency or whatnot.
On the other hand if Apple has an audio-over-ethernet protocol we
could look into it
on the flipside
- not sure we want/need to support full-bandwidth audio...seems
almost like a low samplerate (downsampled or whatnot) makes more
sense for something like this
- we want to sell for PC users as well...so then soem
- we always could have our own (or if there is some open standard
that suits or needs) protocol, and if there is a need write our own
plug-in. Although if there is a plug for it I suspect people would
want it to scale upto full bandwidth or so. Dunno maybe if someone
wants to record notes for the session or something the talkback
could be useful...dont know. I remember seeing Kevin harp doing
that at MixThis in the past. I believe he 'talked' the name of the
song and what mix it was (like "thegreatsong no-vocals mix
surround") at the beginning of the recording, so if filenames got
mangled or whatnot one could still fairly easily figure out what it
was. Would need to ask him where/what/why/how he did this by the way.
I do think we might want the MIDI over ehternet stuff though.
For Chronos that might be a neat feature I think, might be more
accurate than MIDI.

Hello,
I'm working with some independent developers to create hardware
and software products that will be audio and midi over ethernet
compatible with Apple's built in Midi and Audio over ethernet and
Audio over ethernet. The copy of the ethernet midi spec that I
got from Apple was very helpful. Can we get a copy of the
AUNetSend protocol also? We don't need to know the inner workings
of AUNetsend, just how to speak and understand it's language.
Thanks,
Joel
