For anybody who has been following this thread:

I have been in contact with Stefan and Bill off-list.

If you are developing an AU with a Cocoa UI ( preliminary findings - not speaking on behalf of Apple ):

FilterDemo exhibits improved behavior since it uses custom views or views which may become more explicitly. If you have troubles and prefer Cocoa, using custom views or overriding default behavior so they respond only when instructed can improve the behavior. This can be done for all elements in your AU - even if it is as simple as a NSSlider or subclass of.

Doing this can reduce key issues significantly.

Also, I believe I read a thread ( a while back ) on this list which discussed wrapping a Cocoa view in a Carbon ( AU ) view, which was then hosted - as an AU with a Carbon view. Something I have not tried, but will search through the lists. Although it may not sound ideal, it could help if you would like to use Cocoa-view AUs.

Also, I will revisit Airy's AUGUI.fmwk.

If something comes up soon, I'll let the list know - though I am focused on another release right now.

Stefan and Bill - Thanks again.

Justin
