We have a HAL device that works correctly in Tiger, but cannot be
set to
default input or output in System Preference or HALLab. It is
enumerated correctly in both applications.
In Leopard, when HALLab calls AudioHardwareSetProperty with
kAudioHardwarePropertyDefaultOutputDevice or
kAudioHardwarePropertyDefaultInputdevice with the AudioDeviceID of our
device, the call return with an error code of 0, but when I
immediately
re-read the property with AudioHardwareGetProperty I find that the
ID of
the default device is unchanged. As I said, I get no error codes
throughout this process.
I have also confirmed that the device works correctly with
applications
that allow you to select the input and output devices.
How can I discover the reason why the changes to the default audio are
not being made?
Thanks
Steve
If your device is a user-land one..., you should probably follow the
thread "User-land CoreAudio driver and Leopard" that was started in
october or november about that issue (on some others...)
