I should have added that this doesn't mean that it's impossible. For
example, there are several tools out there that pose as a virtual
device to route the audio back out to user space where a program can
then send it to where ever it likes. The AudioReflectorDriver example
code in our SDK provides a simplistic attempt at this. There are also
more complex tools, like Jack for instance, that do routing and a
bunch of other cool things too.
And if Apple would support the open-source jack project (more
specifically the new multi-processor aware jackdmp version http://
www.grame.fr/~letz/jackdmp.html), even cooler things could happen! ((-:
