I third that opinion!
I record bands sometimes and my own bands
music. I also write software in objective-c and cocoa
at work. But never in the audio realm yet and now I
have the bug.

For all the separate recording tracks... bass... guitar... Vox,
etc, I would like so see the frequency spectrum of "all" tracks
in the same NSView. That way I can see which instruments
or tracks frequency spectrum overlap and need EQ to cut our boost etc, then all instruments
can blend in the "whole" mix, and not fight.

I'm surprised apple hasn't any basic sample code
for us audio enthusiasts to where we can open
an audio file and perform a basic frequency
analysis of any audio.

Then this idea could be used as an audio unit,
and can have separate bus inputs, and perform
a frequency analysis in real time during mixdown
with in logic pro or any other compatible audio
recording/mixing program.

Thanks for the reply.

I second that motion.

Everything I have looked at is very complex and I am having trouble extracting the basics.

Hello all,

I am looking and am still looking for some basic foundation sample
code to where I can load an audio file, press the button, and have the
frequency spectrum of the audio in a window in an NSView. Just the basics so
I can understand the process involved.

Then once I have a foundation understanding, i'll add multiple tracks, to view
for mixing purposes layered in an NSView of how the frequency spectrum of
individual tracks relate to each other.

Thanks for any feedback.
